Plans for the weekend are as follows:
Sat 24th: start 9.30am NOT rigged but for coffee, intros some theory etc. Then out for rigging, boats on the water, training, lunch, more training and maybe a race to finish the day. Off water at 4.30pm. Maybe a brief evening theory session/debrief then off to the Wheatsheaf for a meal for those who want to. Sun 25th: 9.30 start again. Two possibilities here: either we all do race training - including rules, tactics, tuning etc or we can split into two groups & one group do racing training & one do more non-race sailing - this can be decided on the day depending on numbers etc. After lunch we'll have some more races followed by a prizegiving and farewells 5-6pm.
Accommodation: The club can provide shared accommodation (split into male Stratos room and female Stratos room, & possible separate family room) if you book quickly on 01780 720 292.
Please would those of you who have not registered with the club confirm to me or to Simon or here on the message board that you are intending to go. it would be also be useful to know if you're planning to eat with us on Sat evening.
Look forward to seeing you there! Sophie

Hi Sophie,
Just to say I and my brother will be new faces and the boat will be new to the water. We would like to join in with the meal on Saturday and also have a hand rigging the boat. One request. My brother is an amputee, right leg below the knee, does anyone have a drysuit or wetsuit he could borrow otherwise I'll have to buy one especially for him. He is very agile and can probably run faster than most of us but would like to keep his leg as dry as possible.

it's worth seeing if Rutland SS have got dry/wet suits your brother could hire for the weekend - give them a ring on 01780 721999. We'll be looking at rigging during Saturday morning so there'll be plenty of help available with that. See you there Sophie |

If you get stuck, you can borrow mine. Its a new Typhoon front zip. I'm six foot and 14 stone so it will either swamp or fit!

regret I can't make it this weekend. I will console myself with drifting round the Solent in the forecast F1.
I also found the association membership form that I thought I'd posted in January! A new one will be winging it's way to you. |
