Where is the best point to retrofit an auto release cleat? Should you remove the existing?
All tips welcome and even better if someone can send a photo of their solution.

I left the original on and fitted the auto release cleat slightly further aft and to starboard than the original. The auto release cleat has nowhere to tie the end of the downhaul to so I left the original as a tying off point.
No doubt this will infringe some rule ;-(
