Question to Stratos Keel owners:

When you sail, do you raise and lower the keel according to your position to the wind, as you would do with a centreboard, or do you leave the keel down all the time?

Regards,
Pascal

I am sure I have had advice that you leave it permanently down but I can't remember from where. I have not had much opportunity yet to experiment myself. I think it is partly due to effort required to raise and lower it. I have also noticed that steering ability is very limited one the keel is up and our all too brief experiences with the Spinnaker set produced quite a lot of heel when the wind was well behind us.

Hi guys just a quick response to your question keel up or down? It is best to leave it down this allows the keel to work to its full potential. Hope this helps,
