My Stratos Keel (1100) is advertised on this site and Apollo Duck. I recently wasted time and effort after receiving email enquiries from a person called Brine Collins (brinecollins@gmail.com). It sounded plausible enough at the start with enquiry on availability, additional photos, condition and best price. Having exchanged emails and satisfied all this the discussion turned to payment and collection.
This is where my suspicions were raised as Brine Collins insisted on paypal payment only as he was at sea as a marine engineer and had no internet banking. His agent would collect the boat. Suspicious I googled his name and found he has been scamming/defrauding boat sellers in the US and Europe. I stopped the sale and informed him he was a scammer and reported him with the correspondence to police internet fraud group. Apparently the scam if continued is that the supposed agent collecting the boat demands upfront payment that gets passed to the seller and the paypal funds never arrive either.
This link describes the scam more eloquently http://eastcoastboating.co.uk/wordpress/?p=1499
Consequently my boat is still for sale and looking for a good home.

Tim
