Dear Laser Stratos Community. I am looking for a Laser Stratos in good condition. I am prepared to travel anywhere in then UK / Irelnad and Western Europe to View and or collect the craft. I also require that combi trailor and covers. Unfortunatly I have a budget restraint of €6000. Thank you for your assistance
Chris, there is a Stratos Centreboard for sale under classifieds for £6000 in Plymouth. I assume your budget is in pounds, not euros, as the symbol in your message suggests, but I may be wrong. Hope this helps, Paul
If indeed your budget is set in Euros then at just over GBP4K I feel it unlikely you will find a boat at this time. New Stratos' are priced between 8k - 9.5k depending on spec and extras. They are a quite highly specified for a dinghy class and as the oldest are only about 4-5 years old now I would be careful to examine a cheap one thoroughly before committing your cash. As a minimum it is likely you would need to spend a substantial extra sum on new sails. Any in this price bracket are likely to be ex. school boats and will have had the hardest life and may be in need of extensive refitting so beware. On the brighter side I'm glad you are interested in the Stratos its a fine boat with a huge range of uses across the boating spectrum. It will handle all your basic boating activities from picnic trips to competitve racing. I hope you soon join us as an owner and if you do find a boat the Class association members will be delighted to welcome you to their events.
