I've been having some fun with a minor problem with the rigging that launches the pole and the gennaker halyard itself during hoists. What happens on my boat currently is that the small block that is connected to the line which feeds through the pole to the tack of the gennaker and which gets drawn aft towards the mast by the halyard as the pole is launched actually ends up getting pulled back underneath the block on the mast through which the halyard gets fed. I've tried making some minor adjustments to see if I can avoid this but no luck so far. Has anybody else had this problem and been able to figure it out?

I've never heard of this problem before but I need to go look at my boat to understand what stops the small block reaching the turning block on the mast. I think it is limited by a line but I need to go look and get back to you - by when someone else may have answered.

Sorry for not coming back yet - just haven't made it to the boat.

Thanks Doug!

I've been sailing with the halyard working as described earlier - it isn't detracting from my fun too much I assure you!
