Hi,

I've read somewhere that it is useful to have a day-glo orange flag on board to attract attention when in need of assistance.

Does anybody know about this? I asked my favourite chandler for one and he doesn't know what this is.

Regards,
Pascal

I've never heard that before. It has certainly never come up on either my RYA Instructor or Senior Instructor courses.

Are you sure it didn't mean flare?

Ahh The RYA orange dayglow flag, this used to be reccommended for windsurfers to carry in their bum bag in case they got into trouble, it is one of many ideas that are not used so much anymore along with burnning a bucket of tar if you are in distress waste of time on a stratos your better off with flares or vhf or even turning your jib upside down.
hope this helps
