What is the main purpose of a bottom cover? Is it important to have one when the boat is in the dinghy park or is it primarily to protect the boat when being towed on the road?
The main purpose is to protect the hull when in transit. It keeps the dirt,oil,greese and tar off your boat, it may prevent the odd scratch and stone chip. If your boat is going to be left in an exposed place for any period of time then the hull will dull and loose it's shine.An undercoverwill slow this process down considerably.
