Hi all,
Starting a new thread (but carries on from previous on rigging issues).
Down towards the bottom of the message board there is a thread with the interesting title "Mystery rope".
One of the messages in the thread is from Rob Archer at lasersailing.com, dated 15/08/02, who says "Hi Guys,I noticed the comments on the Stratos Rigging Manual. I am working on a new one as time allows and will let you know when it is available."
Is it ready yet? Cheers, Neil p.s. Under a thread from earlier this year alister at beveridge.co.uk mentions that he has some Stratos rigging pictures at www.beveridges.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Rigging.htm - great stuff! What a shame, though, that laser have not been able to do similar.

Hi Guy's Laser is about half way through creating a new rigging manual. As most of you are aware we have recently moved and the rigging manual has been put on hold for a while however it will be done although there is no date set in stone as of yet. The webb page will be going through some changes shortly when this happens I belive Dave Shannon has volunteered his services to take over the stratos page. I hope this has been of some help if there are any other problems I will try to help. Thanks also to Doug Couldn't of answered the questions better myself! Regards Paul |

With 14 Stratos and a lot of day-to-day knowledge of these boats I'd be happy to contribute and help with this project. Feel free to e-mail me Kevin Lewis RYA / HKYA Senior Instructor |

Hi there,
I'm personally very appreciative of the help that Paul and the other Laser personnel offer on this board or through direct contact, and I'm sure other people feel the same. The company has a very good image as a result.
On the rigging manual, though, I do still feel it would be good for Laser to set a definite target date for delivery of an updated version. It's a niggling problem that could cloud the quality of an otherwise first class piece of kit. I guess we all know that if there isn't a finish date for a project then it sometimes never gets finished! (Or is that just me?)
Paul - how about checking with your management to see if they can free up some resources to help speed things along, and to bring Kevin and maybe other current owners into the project in some way?
Cheers for now,
Neil |
