Hello everybody
I wanted to just drop a line to say that I picked up my new boat, Stratos No. 370 on Thursday and sailed he for the firsat time on Saturday at my club, St Ives (Cornwall). My previous best result in my Laser 2000 was 3rd, but this time, on my maiden sail I came in second!!! Needless to say I'm delighted with my choice of new boat and still beaming. It was a F5 gusting 6 and I soon learned that Strats 'do' capsize, and 'do' invert, contrary to the info I had previously been given. No problem righting her though and we were soon off again towards the finish. I've since read the the Laser rigging guide to find that I had her set up for light winds!!!! So all in all I feel pretty pleased at surviving the race at all, never mind my final position.
Reading the web site avidly and always receptive to new information.
