Having taken our new Stratos out twice we are struggling with the centre boad adjustment. The board keeps popping up and so we have tried to tighten the plastic friction block, but with little succcess. It appears that you can only do this while on the water with the board down and also the phillips screw heads seem prone to deforming when any attempt is made to tighten them? Has anyone experienced the same or got any tips for improving the arrangement?
I have had the same problem, and never got it sorted, what I do is attach bungy cord to the rope and lash it back to the mainsheet hoop. This also allows some flexibility if you ground the centreboard - allowing it to slide up.
I must try and get more friction into the board, but could not tighten the plastic friction device at all! It seemed pretty inflexible.
You are not alone. We haven't sorted ours out yet, but I have heard of people replacing the plastic with something more robust - I'll have to check what! It might also be worth talking to Laser - I know of at least one person who did take theirs back for adjustment.
