The yardsticks we produced were provisional and therefore subject to change. They were calculated using a wayfarer with 2 people hiking out. They seemed fair at the time but it appears they are going to drop somewhat!
Are any of you using the trapeze when you race? This would have an effect on the yardstick numbers.
We use the trapeze when racing at the club and in mixed fleet racing. I'm currently using 1075 which I think is quite close to the boats true PY number. At least.... as far as racing against Std. Lasers etc is concerned. PYs are al relative afterall.
We are using the PYS of 1095 in Hong kong without trapeze. I do not think it is fair for the 420s ( PYS 1087 ) to give time to Stratos. In the light air, their number should be around 1085. And in the heavy air it should be 1078. What do you think.
