Posted - 19 Nov 2008 : 23:23:24 Thanks for the tip. I had heard about these in concept but hadn't investistigated after a friend said his didn't work too well. What is nice about this one (They both point to the CL257) is that the release tension can be adjusted. I will buy one a try it out over Christmas/New Year - peak summer out there! |

Easy solution. Fit an auto release cleat http://www.sailboats.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=C257
cheap and simple. Drill 2 pilot holes and screw to tiller. I put mine on the opposite side to the standard one and left that one in place.

Posted - 16 Nov 2008 : 23:37:03 Hi, Just noticed this forum and your posting although it was a long time ago. (Maybe you subscribed to e-mail updates.)
I have a Laser Stratos which is kept up in Knysna. I imported it in 2005 through the dealer in Cape Town. I think it was the first one at the time. I live in the UK so only use it on holidays but I am very pleased with it. I just wish they did a quick release rudder like the hobies as there are a lot of tidal sand banks in Knysna. |
